Even within this short trailer, you can see Toni Collette‘s incredible performance as Tara, a woman coping with dissociative identity disorder. The way Collette transitions between different personalities is a fine art worthy of a PhD theses. She is truly an amazing actress. This trailer focuses more on the lightheartedness of her condition, although underneath this humor lies sexual abuse, post-traumatic stress disorder, and the serious sacrifices Tara’s family has had to make. While this trailer is fun, jumping between scenes to light-hearted music, it doesn’t capture the complexities of this high quality show, which was tragically cancelled after season 3.
